REVIEW AUG 2017 - Orleans Ontario

City Paving and Interlock was on my street in Orleans from 02 August, 2017 until 14 August, 2017. One resident originally called them based on a recommendation from a resident down the street who used them last year. This time, 3 residents approached the company for work and I was approached by City Paving's young owner, Nicholas Leclair-Formica. In all they did 5 properties on the street.

This is a work in progress. My first goal is to put up photos of the work they did at my house. Please return as I recount the process from start to finish. I admit I am "old school" in believing that others in their career jobs strive for quality and deliver good value for the money charged. My expectation was a job done properly the first time. I should not have to be their quality control person. Nor should I have to accept a patched job and be ganged up on when I told them their job was unacceptable or told, "You won't notice it from the road."

These photos should demonstrate very easily their lack of quality control and their lack of pride in doing a good job. Heaven help us if this is the industry standard. Was it because we are seniors that they thought they could get in - get out?

Check out this site as well to better inform yourself when looking for an asphalt contractor.

2 Minute Patch Job

Water Main

12 inch ruler

Seam Inside Garage

Instead of the 18 inches I thought I was getting, I got maybe 6 inches. Again instead of overlapping the old asphalt they simply went up to the cut. And even then the paving job is sloppy.

Tracks Left After Paving

That is a 4 foot level in the photos.

Door In Relation to the new Asphalt

This is the left side of the garage door  looking from the street.

That ruler is in inches not centimetres!

Under the door frame is wide open. No need for a mouse to do any gymnastics to get in.

Halfway to the Centre

Dimples

These dimples stretch over at least a 10 - 12 foot section, strangely enough on only one side. They seem to be visible only when it has rained.
